The American Funeral Doom legends, titans and effigies Evoken will play their only exclusive live show in the Baltic States at club "Melnā Piektdiena", Riga, Latvia on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
The band will perform the headline show in the "Antithesis" event, which is dedicated to promote the melancholic Doom metal music in Latvia. It will be a third event under the name of "Antithesis" and it is going to be the most spectacular in the series.
Evoken was founded in 1992, and since then has released 5 studio albums, with several of them considered to be the classic of the genre – "Embrace the Emptiness" (1998), "Quietus" (2001), "Antithesis of Light" (2005). Their latest album "Atra Mors" (2012), marks the bands return from hiatus. The fans of funeral doom place Evoken alongside such acts as Thergoton and Skepticism. Evoken is considered as one of the most influential bands of the genre and has influenced the entire generation of followers. The band will play in the Baltic States for the first time.

Evadne is a melodic doom / death metal band from Spain, founded in 2003. The band plays complex style of metal, in which melodic elements of doom metal are combined with progressive death metal. Evadne has released 2 studio albums – "The 13th Condition" (2007), and conceptual "The Shortest Way" (2012), which has been named as the best Doom metal album of 2012 by the record label Solitude Productions. It was mixed and mastered by legendary Dan Swano from Unisound studio (Katatonia, Opeth, Dark Funeral). The band has received good critical acclaim from many reviews. Evadne will perform in Riga for the first time.

Ophis is the new generation Doom metal band from Germany. They play a mix of funeral doom and death metal, which they themselves describe as monolithic, depressive and nihilistic doom metal. The band was founded in 2001, they have released 2 albums – "Stream of Misery" (2007), "Withered Shades" (2010) – which both received good reviews. In April, 2013, the compilation "Effigies of Desolation" will be released, which will include 2 first band's sold out records – "Nostrae Mortis Signaculum" EP and "Stream of Misery".

Frailty is Latvian doom / death metal band, which was founded in 2003. They have released 2 albums – "Lost Lifeless Lights" (2008), "Melpomene" (2012) – and one EP (2009). The highlights of their work are two major victories at the independent Latvian Rock/Metal Music Awards – the Best Album Award (2009, 2012) and the Best Band Award (2009, 2012).

В четверг, 27-го июня в музыкальном клубе „Melnā Piektdiena" состоится
концерт легенд и титанов фьюнерал-дума – группа Evoken из США впервые
выступит в Риге, и концерт этот будет единственным выступлением группы
в странах Балтии.
В Риге Evoken будут играть в рамках вечера тёмной субкультуры
Antithesis. Antithesis – это серия мероприятий, начатая в 2008 году
для популяризации мало представленного в Латвии музыкального
направления, в котором доминирующим настроением является меланхолия.
Группа Evoken была основана в 1992 году и выпустила 5 альбомов, 3 из
которых – „Embrace the Emptiness" (1998), „Quietus" (2001) и
„Antithesis of Light" (2005) – считаются классикой жанра. „Altra
Mors", последний альбом группы, изданный в 2012 году, отметил её
возвращение после нескольких лет молчания. Ценителями жанра Evoken
ставятся в один ряд с такими группами, как Thergothon и Skepticism,
считаясь одной из самых значительных групп музыкального стиля funeral
doom, которая повлияла на целое поколение музыкантов. В странах Балтии
группа будет играть в первый раз.

Группа основана в 2003 году. Её визитной карточкой является
трудноопределяемый стиль музицирования, в котором мелодичный дум
чередуется с элементами прогрессивного дэт-метала. Группа выпустила

Shortest Way" в 2012. Последний получил массу положительных отзывов, а
российский лейбл Solitude Productions признал его лучшим альбомом 2012
года в стиле doom metal. Недаром, ибо сведение и мастеринг альбома
